A sponsor is not the same as a vacancy

Check immigration status and current recruitment separately. Neither a list entry nor a job advertisement guarantees a suitable offer.

Understand the route first

For the Dutch highly skilled migrant route, the IND says a recognised employer applies for the residence permit. Its guidance describes an employment contract, applicable income requirements and market-rate pay, and links to the public sponsor register. Begin with IND highly skilled migrant guidance.

Verify the organisation

Compare the employer’s legal name in official records with the name in the advertisement and proposed contract. If they differ, ask for a written explanation. Open the employer’s careers website directly and look for the role there. Keep the vacancy URL and date in your application tracker.

A list assembled by a blog can help you form research questions, but it should not be treated as a current register or as proof of active hiring. This guide does not publish a list of supposedly live jobs.

Read the position carefully

Identify the role’s actual responsibilities, required experience, work location and application deadline. Compare these with your own experience before applying. Ask whether immigration support is available for that specific position and which route the organisation intends to use.

Prepare the employer conversation

  • Who is the employing legal entity?
  • Which team handles the immigration process?
  • What information is needed at the initial application stage?
  • When will a formal contract be available?
  • Which costs or relocation arrangements will be set out in writing?

These are planning questions, not a universal legal checklist. The official route and your circumstances determine the actual requirements.

Keep your research current

Recheck the IND page before making decisions based on eligibility, pay thresholds or application timing. If a job closes, keep your notes but stop treating it as an active lead. A smaller set of well-verified applications is easier to manage than a spreadsheet of unconfirmed promises.
