Make one comparison sheet

Start with a small shortlist of courses that fit your academic goals. Record the institution’s official programme URL, the exact course name, campus, start date, entry criteria and contact details. Keep a separate column for questions you have not yet resolved. A short list of well-researched options is easier to use than dozens of saved social posts.

Work backwards from deadlines

For each course, record the official application deadline and any separate funding deadline. Then list the preparation tasks: references, academic records, personal statement, language evidence where requested and any portfolio. Put a named owner and target date beside tasks that depend on someone else.

Separate admission, funding and immigration

Create three sections in your tracker. An admission offer, scholarship decision and immigration permission are different outcomes. Mark their status independently so progress in one area does not hide an unresolved problem in another.

If Canada is on your shortlist, our study-permit research guide points to IRCC. For other destinations, begin with the relevant country hub and official authority. Use the chosen route’s own instructions rather than copying another student’s checklist.

Build an honest budget

List tuition, accommodation, living costs, travel, insurance and application-related expenses. Write down the currency and date for each quote. Label estimated figures and add a contingency appropriate to your own plan. Avoid treating a scholarship application as an award or possible future earnings as secured funding.

Keep a decision record

After every important conversation, note what was confirmed, who confirmed it and what evidence you retained. Recheck official pages before making a payment or travel commitment. Store sensitive records securely and do not share more information than the verified application process requires.

This is an editorial organisation template. It does not replace institution-specific admission instructions or official immigration advice.
